“I’ve always enjoyed the outdoors, spending a lot of time hiking as a child and teenager. Running has become a big part of my life over the past few years and truly is my new adult addiction. It’s my escape. I enjoy pushing myself and seeing what I can achieve.
Waking up early for a sunrise run through the hills is my happy place. Running has also been a great way to make friends. I enjoy the solitude of running alone, and equally enjoy the comradeship of running with buddies. The satisfaction of reaching a goal, and running some epic trails at the same time is hard to beat. I’m also arguably a better person after running as well as it gives me the chance to clear my head.
A big goal for me was to run an ultra. Completing the Old Ghost Ultra last year I thoroughly enjoyed the whole race. Starting in the early morning to catch the sunrise and then running along the tops with great views in every direction. It has really cemented my love of running, especially pushing myself in the longer distances and seeing what I’m capable of.”
