“There are so many reasons why I run. I run to clear my mind, to feel strong, to inspire others and be inspired, to challenge myself to always better myself, to meet new people, to catch up with friends old and new, to enjoy the outdoors and because there is no better feeling than the post run high.
I first started running to keep fit, but I eventually joined a running club and then found a training group ATEAM. We’re a diverse group of athletes and we all motivate each other to keep pushing further and faster.
I’ve been lucky to experience running in different parts of the world, and explore new places. But what I realised during lockdown is that there are so many beautiful places on our doorstep in Wellington and we’re so lucky to live where we are. I spent last year living in Buenos Aires, where you could only really run around a park. I missed the hills and being able to see the ocean from almost anywhere.
So this summer, get out and go for a run (or walk), explore some of our beautiful backyard. It’s the best decision you’ll ever make!”
