“I run because I love the outdoors. I also run because it’s a tonic for my mental and physical health, but mostly I run to stay fit. I stay fit so as to not miss an opportunity I might miss if I wasn’t fit. As I’m blind these often rare opportunities in my world come in the form of running guides, as I cannot run without the assistance of these wonderful humans.
So while most runners might look ahead for their next event or challenge, as a runner I look forward to my next opportunity, which in my world can lead to more times in the outdoors, enhanced mental and physical health and who knows… maybe my own event or challenge.”
