“I have never found running hard and it is just a way to get around. My mum says that I am always running, jogging or skipping somewhere. I love to do sprints like the 100m races at school athletics. Last year I got to represent my school at the Northern Southland Athletics and Cross Country for running.

My dad suggested we try parkrun one weekend and since then I have been going on longer distance runs.

At the moment I am trying to run 2km everyday so that I have a good chance at the 1500m at Athletics this year. Running regularly helps me during the netball season too, as I don’t have any trouble getting quickly about the court.

I think once I am old enough I will give the Kepler Challenge and other big runs a crack.”
