“Yea I’ve never really been a huge runner, except on the very rare occasion when I’d get the odd motivation to go for a run, but it definitely wasn’t something I enjoyed doing and the motivation was very short lived. Then after a bit of an average start to 2021 I decided it was time to sort my s!$t out and get myself a bit healthier – both physically and mentally. So I ditched the ciggys, cut down on the beers and started going for a small 1k runs a few times a week, kicking things off small. It was a bit of a shock to the system, even at such a short distance, but after a few weeks I was hooked and really started to look forward to the time I’d spend wandering around on the trails.

A good friend of mine got me in touch with Conner Harding and we ended up meeting for a good chat and put together a plan on what it was I wanted out of running and some goals to work towards. Now 3 months and some tough training days later, I just crossed the finish line of the Northburn half marathon!

Absolutely stoked to see some results and it’s definitely confirmed how much I’ve come to love trail running and I can’t see life without it! Now I’m ready to get stuck back into training, not only for the events I have planned in the next few months, but also just to get out and go for a run in the mountains around Queenstown.”
