Two missions split across two weekends, four Helicopters and twenty two runners!
MISSION ONE : 18th January 2026
An amazing day and freakin’ epic flight across the lake and mountains. From the Fiordland Helicopter hanger near Manapouri, to the Luxmore Hut heli-pad on the Kepler Track, 12 runners in two machines were flown in to stat the “Little Kepler”.
Thanks to the aerial shortcut, the Kepler Track mission was reduced from 60km to 38km – Luxmore Hut to Rainbow Reach. All the very best bits that are typically impossible to access for runners not yet ready to take on the whole loop. Incredible alpine ridge lines, all the side quests, and a five star day in the Mountains. Two young lads along for the adventure as well, the January crew, made up entirely of Te Anau locals, had a phenomenal day. Well done team!
