“I started running because I saw my Mum do it. And Dad too. They went cool places so I wanted to try. I started with my first 5k at parkrun – well I didn’t make it all the way. But the next time we went I did. I felt amazing.
I run because it’s fun. Sometimes I take the GoPro and we record the places we run. I like doing running jumps in our videos. And I love running fast downhill.
My favourite ever run was Skyline in Wellington with my Dad. Oh and the Northburn 100 kids adventure race. I ran through three rivers, ran up a cliff, across a big pipe. There was too much stuff and Dad couldn’t keep up with me.
I’ve run 10k too. With my Mum at the Wai Running Festival. And I’m going to do my second 10k at Manawatu Striders this month. My favourite place to run is the forest and my big goal is to run 20k.
I don’t know why I love running. I just do.”
